AECOM handles the highway toll collection work for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.  With new toll roads coming online, a couple of urgent projects were needed to assist in collecting the tolls.  AECOM contacted Gontram Architecture and Ten Penny Construction to provide some much-needed Design-Build services.  In Monroe, North Carolina, with Landlord lease negotiations finally complete, there was an urgent need to design and construct a toll collection facility.  The catch, it needed to be done very quickly to coincide with the opening of one of the new toll roads.  This design-build team designed, permitted, and completed construction in less than 4 months.
