First Presbyterian Church Family Life Center
Sanford, NC
The First Presbyterian Church of Sanford, NC received a donation of land and funds from an adjacent land owner which proceeded to burn in a structure fire. This provided the opportunity to give back to the community ten-fold. A survey and facilitation process was launched to obtain information about how this church community would go about serving its members and other people in the community.

The result of several months of consideration is a 34,000 square foot addition to the existing church facilities. This project houses a Youth Center, classrooms, offices, a chapel, library, commercial kitchen and other spaces which will help meet the church’s mission for providing services to the community and to its congregation. The project was dedicated on Sunday, December 14th, 2003. Gontram Architecture delivered this project in association with Gerald T. Quick, AIA, Architect. Jerry Quick acted as design architect.

The project estimate cost: $4,200,000
